Connecticut's fourth season is a vision in monochrome. At first the cold simplicity is soothing, but after a few weeks I am longing for the technicolor warmth of spring.

Thankfully, there is usually a mid-winter thawing day. I wander outside, breathe deeply, and search for reminders that spring will one day wrap its bright green tendrils back around my cold little world.
